What we try to be

We know this place. Our authority comes from real connection, not dropping in for a story and leaving.
Warm
We write with affection for the region and respect for the people in it.
Honest
We celebrate what's beautiful and face what's broken, both with the same care.
What this isn't
- Not a tourism brochure. Nobody pays to be called charming.
- Not a government report. The science is here, with the people it affects.
- Not a place for rumors. Facts name their source, and mistakes get corrected in the open.
How we work
- Every figure names the organization that published it.
- Profiles come from real conversations, with consent.
- Stories from other outlets are credited and linked, never copied.
- When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.
How the site pays for itself
Eventually, a few labeled affiliate links to things that genuinely help on the water, like gear or charters, and local sponsors for Tide Table who are named as sponsors in plain words. Nobody can pay for a story or a kinder one. There are none of either yet. Here's the full version.
